St. John's Global Ministry will partner with Lutheran World Relief to collect Personal Care Kits. Each kit must contain a bath-size towel, two bars of soap, a toothbrush, a comb, and metal nail clippers. Monetary donations are also being accepted to help defer the shipping costs. The kits are distributed to those in need around the world. Please see the September Chimes for the specific requirements.

Quilting for Lutheran World Relief |
|
This month Global Ministries will begin a quilting project for Lutheran World Relief. A Mission Quilt is mainly used to shield against the cold and rain, but its versatility also makes it useful as a simple tent, floor covering, or a wrap to hold a baby on his mother's back. Last year LWR provided over 355,000 quilts to people in 16 countries. We hope to have one or two quilts to present to the congregation by Easter. If you are interested in learning more about this ministry, please contact Gerry Lazenby (852-4117) or Amanda Haggerty (614-202-1409). Donations of materials are welcome! |
