A bunch of our St. John’s ladies missed the best Tea Party ever at Jeanne and Monte’s beautiful backyard. The rest of us (22) had a great time.
Even Minnie Pearl with her price tag on her hat, oh, I mean Donna Toy was there. She was all decked out. The other ladies looked pretty good with their outfits also, hats, gloves, and fancy dresses. There was good fellowship and laughter you could hear a block away. There was also delicious food and drinks prepared mostly by "Chef" Monte. It was outstanding! A big “thank you” to Jeanne and Monte for giving us a wonderful afternoon.

Did everyone enjoy "Fair Day" at St. John's? The outdoor combined worship service, the picnic and the bake-offs were fantastic. Our entire congregation became "judges," in the bake off by sampling each delicious cookie, candy, bread, pie and cake entry. The bake-off contests raised $53.00 which will go toward our new church sign.
Every entry was mouth watering, we did have to pick our favorites. Cookies - 1st place- Nancy Penix, 2nd place- Diane Miller-Ryan, 3rd place- Alana; Candy - 1st place-Dorothy Gregg; Cakes - 1st place - Barbara Sellars; Bread - 1st place - Alana; Most Sinful Desert - 1st place - Fran Datz.
Now what would fair week be with out our 4-H and FFA youth? Pastor Steve, and Debbie were frequent fliers at the fair.

Fran Datz, Gene Noble and Dale Widen were installed as new church council members during worship on July 11th. We thank outgoing council members Kay Bryant, Dick Stelz and Debbie Wilson for their years of dedication to St. John's on church council.

All St John's Council Members are listed in the About Us page of this web site. We are blessed to have such a hardworking and dedicated group. |
